The mate is a drink that we can have it when we want it, in the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening, at night...we can d
rink it with friends, with family, also alone...It's great !

Did you drink mate on Friday? Remember that the first time you try it, the taste is not as good as it'll be the next ones!

Which is your opinion of it? Did some of the students like it?

The most popular yerba mate seems to be Taragui. Yerba mate is green, it looks like dry grass.

Here, there are lots of mates, none ready to be drunk- they are empty, most of them are decorations. There are only 3 that we use: the biggest ones (made of red plastic. We use them because you don't need to take the kettle, the red part is a thermos) and another made of bamboo with engravings.

Here we have some definitions about typical words related to mate in Argentina:

Mate: Is the typical drink of Argentina and is drunk with a "bombilla".
Bombilla: Is the thing that you need to drink mate.
Thermo: Is to keep the water at the right temperature - about 80º C.
Kettle: Is to heat the water on the fire.
Yerba: Is the thing to put into the mate with the water.

To make mate:

First you have to put the water in the kettle.
You put the kettle on the fire, don't let it boil.
You put the yerba into the mate.
Then you put the bombilla and the water into the mate.
And now you can drink it.
